4.9 & 5 GHz versions

Are there other versions of Metageek in the forecast? I am interested
4.9 and 5 Ghz and I have no problem with it being on separate dongles.

Regards,

Hi,

I received a couple of emails relative to future Db Wi-spy. One precised : "by the end of November we should start receiving units in stock to send you, our first customers, by the first part of December"

As I'll go to US at the end of december, I would like to know if the Db Wi-spy will be available as expected in order It would be possible to get back one ? (I'll be left at the end of january's first week).

Thanks you

That will be cutting it close, we should be getting our first shipment today, but we will be preparing them ourselves.  Just stay tuned over the next couple of days :)

Any news on availability of 5Ghz Wi Spy?

I have seen the demo of the 5GHz WiSpy dongle. Looks impressive! I am really looking forward to the release :)

My question is, will the new 5GHz scanner be able to detect signals that can be interpreted as radar interference? I have eperienced some annoying problems due to the implemetation of DFS (WDS bridges go down), and the filling of the Non-Occupancy channellist - so that no channels in the band is available.

What I would like to see as a feature is the detection of noise signals (staggered PRF) that will cause the DFS routine to kick in, as describen in EN 301 893 v.1.3.1/v1.4.1/v.1.5.1/v.1.6.1

We are working on hard on a 5 GHz version of Wi-Spy. It is a substantially more difficult undertaking than 2.4 GHz, but we are up to the challenge. We hope to release it early next year. Thanks for your interest.

I too would like one for the A band as well.

Instead of a differant version for each band could you look in to a multi-band(900Mhz, 2.4Ghz, and 5.8) all-in-one divice and also as separate divices

This would allow ether the purchase of 1 usb divice to do full troubleshooting and specific per-issue purchase

Hi gentlemen, I work in the entertainment industry, and ethernet and Wireless technology are more and more used here. We're now confronted to a massive use of 2.4Ghz channels in the same place or hall , creating interferences and thus glitches on the lighting, video or sound network !
You can have a good overview of how the Wispy is used in our field here :
http://www.citytheatrical.com/pdfs/SHoW%20DMX%20Lab%20Report.pdf

This report is used to compare to competitive products , war is open , anyway. I know you're working hard on a 5Ghz model, but I also would like to know if you plan to create a dual band module or not , that would be wonderful for our industry as we use both frequencies ... ? please give me a negative or positive answer, but please give me one ! We plan to search for such a device to become a standard analyser into our application field.
By advance Thanks for your answer.
Regards

Sorry about the delay in responding to your inquiry.  Right now, our focus is on just getting the 5GHz spectrum analyzer up and running.  We think a dual band product would be great, but we won't know how feasible it is until after we have our 5 GHz product up and running.

When do you expect that the 5GHz version will be available? Some where in the forum I read April 2008, which is right now!

It is looking more like June right now, but they have some prototypes on display at Interop right now!

Any update on 5GHz? I'd buy one right now if you had one. ;-)

Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please. Update please.

Give us your e-mail and we'll send you a $200  discount code when it is released!

Holy moly. Looks like the pricing info is out for the new dual band but it is too high for me to purchase. Will there maybe be a dualband version aimed at the home user versus corporate user?

I have v1 and want to add the 5.8 spectrum, don't need it to be in as high of a resolution, just would like to monitor both bands though.
