What is a Spectrum Analyzer?

A spectrum analyzer reads radio activity, and graphs it according to frequency and amplitude.  The Wi-Spy v1 is the world's smallest 2.4GHz spectrum analyzer.  There are a couple of great links that discuss more found here.
